Lake District Photography Course

Lake District Photography Course

Join us for a 3-day photography course in the Lake District, where you will learn how to take amazing photos of lakes, mountains, waterfalls, and more.

The Lake District is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a photographer’s paradise. It has 16 glacial lakes, rugged fells, and picturesque villages, as well as a rich history and culture. You will have plenty of opportunities to explore and photograph this amazing area, guided by our experienced and friendly tutors.

Our course is suitable for all levels of photographers, from beginners to advanced. We will teach you the basics of camera settings, composition, lighting, and post-processing, as well as how to use filters, tripods, and other accessories. We will also give you tips and tricks on how to find the best locations, the best time of day, and the best time of year to shoot.

You will stay in a comfortable and cozy hotel in the heart of the Lake District, with breakfast included. You will also have access to transportation to and from the shooting locations. We will visit some of the most iconic and scenic spots in the Lake District, such as:

  • Windermere: The largest and most popular lake in the Lake District, with stunning views of the surrounding mountains and islands. You will learn how to capture reflections, sunsets, and star trails over the water.
  • Buttermere: A tranquil and serene lake, surrounded by high fells and wooded slopes. You will learn how to use filters to create long exposures and smooth out the water surface.
  • Derwentwater: A beautiful lake with four islands and a backdrop of Skiddaw, one of the highest mountains in England. You will learn how to use a polarizer to enhance the colors and contrast of the lake and the sky.
  • Ullswater: A long and winding lake, with dramatic cliffs and waterfalls along its shore. You will learn how to capture the movement and power of the water, as well as the reflections of the clouds and the trees.
  • Rydal Water: A small and peaceful lake, with a famous boathouse and a connection to the poet William Wordsworth. You will learn how to use leading lines, foreground interest, and framing to create compelling compositions.

These are just some of the locations we will visit during our course. We will also explore other hidden gems and lesser-known spots, depending on the weather and the light conditions. We will also have some indoor sessions, where we will review and critique your photos, and teach you how to edit and enhance them using software like Lightroom and Photoshop. Our Lake District photography course is a great way to improve your skills, have fun, and make new friends. You will leave with a portfolio of stunning images and a memory card full of unforgettable experiences.
