Northumberland is a land of contrasts, where you can find rugged coastlines, ancient castles, rolling hills, and dark skies. It’s a perfect place to explore and photograph, whether you’re a beginner or an advanced photographer. You’ll have the opportunity to learn from our experienced tutors, who will guide you through the basics of camera settings, composition, lighting, and post-processing. You’ll also get to practice your skills in a variety of settings, such as:

  • Bamburgh Castle, one of the most iconic landmarks in Northumberland, overlooking the North Sea
  • Holy Island, a tidal island that is home to a medieval monastery and views of the upturned herring boats.
  • The ruin of Dunstanburgh Castle and the fishing village of Craster.
  • The towns of Alnwick, Alnmouth, Seahouses, Blythe and Amble.

    Our Northumberland Photography Course is a three-day residential course, where you’ll stay in a comfortable hotel with breakfast included near the historic town of Alnwick. You’ll also have transportation to and from the locations. All you need to bring is your camera, tripod, and enthusiasm!
